Sanmina-SCI readies a comeback writes EE Times’ editor Bolaji Ojo. In an interview with EE Times, Joe Bronson, President and COO of Sanmina-SCI, “insisted the company has a strong global brand and only needs to improve its efficiency ratios while increasing sales from new markets.
 
Forbes magazine, in Kerry Dolan’s technology article titled “Speed: The New X Factor,” looks at how consumers want newer, snazzier versions of electronic goods faster than ever before. “Few cases better illustrate the speed-to-market trend than that of the Playaway, a digital audio book player conceived in August 2004 and designed and produced at breakneck pace to make this year’s holiday season [and] . . . Sanmina-SCI committed to produce, package and deliver the Playaway to retailers’ distribution warehouses by late September."

Medical Division

One of the “non-traditional” industries that EMS providers have embraced has been the medical technology sector, and they have done so not reluctantly, but with open arms. Mexico Operations

A contributed article entitled Turning the Tide is featured in the April edition of Electronics Supply & Manufacturing magazine. As a leader in the resurgence of Mexico’s EMS industry, Sanmina-SCI exported $3.1 billion in equipment in 2006 and received the National Export Award in November 2006.
